Over the 12/13th March, Cubs from across Central Notts descended on Sherbrooke Scout Campsite for their annual Cubs Under 9½ Sleepover, and were joined by some older Beavers for their BeACub Day.
After arriving and dropping off their Bags, the Beavers and Cubs were put into their activity groups for the day and were off for a day of fun and adventure! The theme for the weekend was GREEN, and the young people were able to make Seed-bombs, making wool and stick decorations, building dens in the nearby woods, Identifying plants around the Campsite, and a bit of backwoods cooking - because what is a camp without a fire of some sort!
After a couple of breaks throughout the day for drinks and lunch, it was soon time to pack away the activities, and get ready for the planned wide game, looking at the pictures we are not sure if the young people or the adults enjoyed the wide game the most!
To help the Cubs settle down for tea, magical magician 'Alex Cadabra' treated the Beavers and Cubs to a Magic show, and they were stunned by some of his amazing tricks!
After a showing of Flubber, it was time for bed with the excitement of more fun and adventure to come the following day!
Sunday morning saw the usual serving of Breakfast, after which the Cubs enjoyed some of the Sherbrook activities that were on offer:
As the Sleepover drew to a close, it was time to say farewell to all of the young people, and what better way to remember the sleepover than with a souvenir from the Tuck Shop!
Thankyou to everyone who made the weekend such a success!
