An incredible effort was put in by the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts on New Year's Day for 1st Daybrook and Woodthorpe's New Year's Litter-pick, accumulating at least 10 full bags of rubbish collected from their streets!
The young people identified environmental issues as being important to them and wanted to take action, the group do regular litter-picks around their HQs at Good Shepherd Church, but for the New Year they've gone bigger and further afield in the school holidays. Importantly, the young people asked to do the litter picking, as they enjoy it, and were able to cover Woodthorpe, Arnold, Sherwood, Redhill, Daybrook and Gedling!
Our young people are doing their communities proud and are a credit to themselves. The impact has been seen by the praise they've had from passers-by and on social media with messages being sent to the group.
